Six Flags New England “raises the flag against bullying” on Aug. 24, when the theme park will have blue support ribbons available for $1 donation at the Main Gate, with all proceeds to benefit the Carl Joseph Walker-Hoover Foundation

Guests who make a donation for this ribbon will receive a $20.13 admission coupon, which is more than 60 percent off the main gate ticket price, according to the theme park.

Gwynnetta Sneed, founder of the foundation that awards scholarships each spring in the memory of Carl, a Springfield sixth grader who committed suicide in 2009 in the wake of school bullying, and other foundation members will be on site during the day.

The annual walk-run fund-raiser in memory of Carl is scheduled Sept. 21 at Springfield’s Forest Park.

The theme park will also be offering a variety of family activities to educate and put a stop to bullying. All students will be invited to sign an anti-bullying pledge at the park or take part in the Positivity Dance Party on Aug. 24 located at the Splash Water Stage.

Six Flags New England is located at 1623 Main St. Agawam. For more information, visit www.sixflags.com
