AAA Pioneer Valley will host its first Electric Vehicle (EV) educational event, while unveiling its new EV Charging Station and Tire Refill Station.
The event will be held Oct. 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the AAA West Springfield office at 150 Capital Drive. EV experts will be onsite to answer questions about electric vehicles, as well as new technology designed to improve fuel economy and lower vehicle emissions, such as Start-Stop systems.
“Technology is ever changing in the automotive industry, and this can often lead to confusion among consumers. This event is designed to pull together experts and resources to assist the driving community in better understanding options, and technological advancements, whether they are in the market for a new, or used, car, intend to rent a car for their travels, or just want to learn more” said Sandra J. Marsian, AAA vice president of membership, marketing and public relations, in a release.
AAA Automotive Vice President Joe Ferraro added his organization "is pleased" to unveil its "EV Charging Station and Tire Refill Station available for all to use at no cost to assist with fuel efficiency, and support of emerging green technology.”
The public is invited to learn about a variety of automotive topics at the event including:
Start/stop technology, with indoor presentations from 1 to 1:30 p.m.
Electric vehicles, with indoor presentations from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
How to use an EV charging station
How to use a tire refill station
Central Chevrolet, Jerry Rome Nissan and Sarat Ford will be onsite with several electric vehicles currently on the market. such as the Chevy Volt, Ford C- Max Hybrid, Ford Fusion Electric, Ford Fusion Hybrid, Lincoln MKZ Hybrid, Nissan Leaf and more.
