Two members selected from each county in the state.
The Governor’s Statewide Youth Council is seeking applicants. According to a release from the office of state Rep. Anne Gobi, D-Spencer, the council "incorporates youth voices into the policy-making process."
The Governor’s Office will select 28 new council members, between the ages of 14 and 20, to represent Massachusetts’ 14 counties, with two members per county. Members serve for two years. The application deadline is May 29.
Responsibilities include attending bimonthly meetings and conference calls, advocating for youth issues, like the historic anti-bullying legislation signed into law in 2010 by Gov. Deval Patrick, and incorporating the ideas of other youths and young adults into the creation of policy.
