Event scheduled April 12 at 2 p.m. at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
AMHERST - Northampton illustrator and author Mordicai Gerstein will do a reading and booksigning on April 12 at 2 p.m. at the Eric Carle Museum of Picture Book Art.
Gerstein will be reading from his 2013 "The First Drawing," which imagines the discovery of art by a child more than 30,000 years ago. He will also do a drawing demonstration.
Gerstein is a 2004 Caldecott Medalist for his "The Man Who Walked Between the Towers," a true story about a Frenchman who walked a tightrope between the World Trade Center twin towers in 1974. He is also the recipient of the 2006 National Jewish Book Award in the Illustrated Children's Books category for his book, "The White Ram," a story about Abraham and the binding of Isaac.
The event is free with museum admission. There is limit one book from home for signing, with an unlimited books from the museum bookshop.
