Honors earned by local students.
• Mary Mancuso, of Granby, was one of 277 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Scholar-Athletes in the 2013-14 school year. A student-athlete must earn at least a 3.25 grade point average throughout their career to qualify for the list. The Lakers had 142 males and 135 females on the list this year.
Mancuso is a member of the cross country team at Mercyhurst.
• Christrine Gura, of Chicopee, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Fitchburg State University. She is entering her senior year at Fitchburg and has been named to the dean’s list both semesters during the past two years of study.
• Nicolas Suarez-Canton Trueba, of Granby, who is majoring in computer science and economics and is a 2013 graduate of MacDuffie School, was named to the spring dean’s list at Union College in Schenectady, N.Y.
• Kaitlyn J. Baranowski, of South Hadley, was named to the dean’s list at the College of the Holy Cross for the spring semester. She is a biology major and a member of the class of 2015. She is the daughter of Don and Dianne Baranowski, of South Hadley.
• Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts named Jeffrey Mason, of Chicopee, to the dean’s list for the spring semester.
• Michelle P. Dukette, of Chicopee, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at the University of Rhode Island.
• Lassell College named Nina Hollis-Beaulieu, of Granby, a member of the class of 2016, majoring in fashion and retail merchandising, and Sinead McArdle, of Granby, a member of the class of 2016, majoring in fashion and retail merchandising, to the spring semester dean’s list.
• Kerri Sexton, of South Hadley, is among the Western Massachusetts students welcomed to the campus of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Va., as members of the Class of 2018. Sexton plans to major in anthropology.
