Walk takes place April 27 in Forest Park.
SPRINGFIELD -- More than 2,000 participants are expected in the 2014 Pioneer Valley Heart Walk on April 27 in Forest Park.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. for the 1, 3 or 5 mile walk, which steps off at 10 a.m. with a ribbon cutting ceremony. The walk is part of the American Heart Association’s national healthy living initiative, "My Heart. My Life."
The association, which funds research and education related to heart disease and stroke, is working to help individuals and families achieve more healthy lifestyles.
Walkers who raise a minimum of $100 will receive a free Heart Walk T-shirt.
