Academic honors for local students
• Holyoke students named to the spring dean’s list at Springfield Technical Community College include Danielle Allen, Jamie Archambault, Carla Cruz, Samuel Del Valle, Jeffrey Demers, Teaha Ducler, Sally Harbilas, Dario Hernandez, Matthew Hoey, Megan Hungerford, Janet Moffatt, Shelbi Moricz, Julio Nunez, Julie O’Daniel, Stephen Penn, Christopher Perez, Emily Quinn, Guillermo Quinones, Grant Rauscher, Mark Rodriguez, Holly Rowe, Solimar Santana, Melissa Vazquez, Amos Warren and Amanda Whitfield.
• Sara Cauley, of Holyoke, was named to Westfield State University’s dean’s list for the fourth consecutive semester. Having just completed her sophomore year, Sara achieved a 4.0 grade point average for the spring semester. She is the daughter of Mitch and Christine Cauley.
• Area students named to the spring dean’s list at Providence College included Caitlin Charette, of Chicopee, and Blake McConnell, of Holyoke.
• Kayla Tillotson, of South Hadley, was awarded a master degree in special education by Plymouth, N.H., State University.
• Keene State College congratulates Samantha Brault, of South Hadley, on earning an enrichment scholarship. This scholarship recognizes first-year students who display high academic performance. Merit awards are determined from a review of the students’ application for admission to Keene State.
• Goodwin College in East Hartford, Conn., conferred 578 bachelor’s degrees, associates degrees, and certificates to the Class of 2014. Area students who were awarded degrees included Heather Paquin, of Granby, and Carissa Walter-Drobiak, of Chicopee.
• David Wielgosz, of Holyoke, a student at Fairleigh Dickinson University’s Florham Campus in Madison, N.J., was named to the dean’s list for academic achievement.
• Area students named to the spring dean’s list at Goodwin College in East Hartford, Conn., included: Janet Consolini, of Chicopee; Katie Dziedzic, of Chicopee; Mellissa Williams, of Chicopee; and Tanairie Montijo, of Holyoke.
• David Dextradeur and Elizabeth Morin, both of Chicopee, were among area students named to the spring dean’s list at Becker College in Worcester.
• Area students who were awarded enrichment scholarships at Keene, N.H, State College for high academic performance included Madalyn Carroll, of Holyoke.
• Amanda Beverly Major, daughter of Donna and Michael Major, of Granby, graduated from St. Michael’s College with a bachelor degree, magna cum laude, in Spanish and French.
• Area students who were awarded bachelor degrees by Assumption College included: Felicia Baltazar, of Chicopee, biotechnology and molecular biology; Ryan Sheehan, of South Hadley, accounting; and Marissa Tinnemeyer, of Chicopee, biology.
