Academic honors for local students.
• Area residents named to the dean’s list for spring semester at Rochester Institute of Technology included: Samantha Abraham, of Agawam; Calvin Carrington, of Huntington; Scott Fenwick, of Westfield; Genevieve Senecal, of Westfield; and Kenny Ung, of Agawam.
• Abigaile Hart, of Westfield, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Simmons College in Boston, where she is majoring in education. She is the daughter of Andy and Michele Hart.
• Brittany Stefano, daughter of Brian and Jennie Stefano, of Westfield, received academic honors at Boston College by making the university’s dean’s list for the spring semester, earning first honors. A sophomore at Boston College, Stefano is majoring in accounting in the university’s Carroll School of Management.
• Rani Ponnam, of West Springfield, was awarded a degree at the May 18 graduation of the University of New Haven.
• Scott R. Freniere, of Agawam, was named to the dean`s list for the spring semester at Worcester State University having attained a 4.0 grade point average.
• Annaka Paradis-Burnett, a resident of Russell and 2014 graduate of Gateway Regional High School who will attend Smith College this fall, was selected as a recipient of a $2,000 scholarship from the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Connecticut and Western Massachusetts..
Paradis-Burnett was among 25 area students selected from nearly 300 applicants to receive a scholarship. Scholarship applicants were scrutinized by a panel of judges in several categories including academic achievement, community involvement and financial need.
• Kate Menard, of Westfield, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Springfield Technical Community College.
• Area residents named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at Roger Williams University included: Jacqueline Bakhtiar, of Agawam; David Balise, of Agawam; Megan Breault, of Agawam; Felicia Creswell, of Southwick; Paige Dutko, of East Longmeadow; Shavon Ennis, of Agawam; Zachary Gehring, of Westfield; Keelan Higgins, of Southwick; Joshua Jacques, of Agawam; Kelsey Platanitis, of Granville; James Rolland, of Southwick; Giancarlo Romeo, of Westfield; and Allison Weiner, of Agawam.
• Emily Campbell, of Westfield, who recently completed freshman year and is majoring in business administration and marketing, was named to the dean’s list for the spring semester at LeMoyne College.
• Ashley Kirby, of Westfield, was named to the spring dean’s list for academic achievement at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, Pa.
